And if we should win, let it be by the code, with our faith and our honor held high; and if we should lose, let us stand by the road and cheer as the winners go by. -Lawyer Romulo Macalintal, Aquino-Binay proclamation set at 2 p.m. Wednesday By Lira Dalangin-Fernandez INQUIRER.net
June 09, 2010 – Saturday – at around 4:oo in the afternoon in the Batasang Pambansa, the Philippines again made history as Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and Makati Mayor Jejomar “Jojo” Binay were proclaimed as the President and Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines. As I watched their proclamation on the television, I felt as if there is a need for a prayer for the new administration; just because the new administration has already been installed does not mean we can now stop hoping and praying for the nation. The president, together with all the leaders installed in the service does not only have the obligation and responsibilities for this country but EVERY Filipino living in or out of the Philippines…
To the LORD ALMIGHTY, we thank You for all the blessings that has showered upon this country; for the leaders -good or bad- that You gave the nation. we know oh Lord that all these things happened according to your desire for our country. we thank You Father for your never-ending love and mercy and grace to Your children here in the Philippines.
Lord, now that the new administration has been installed, we humbly ask for Your guidance. give your son, President Noynoy Aquino, all the wisdom that he needs to be able to run the country well. Send every leader of this country the Holy Spirit, so that they may be able to do their tasks according to Your will and desire for this country. Lord, we rebuke all the works of evil in Your land. Heal our land Father, for this is Yours and not ours. All this we ask, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
As concerned Filipinos, let us NOT stop helping our leaders in making this nation good enough to be called God’s. The most powerful thing that we can do is to pray. Let us have faith in Him, for God said: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” –Hebrews 13:5
